18 Standards and Directives
18.1 Information in Relation to the MRL 2006/42/EC
This operating and project engineering manual is structured in accordance with the Machinery Directive
2006/42/EC.
The Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC sets out safety requirements for machinery and installations placed
on the market in the European Union.
18.2 Information on Functional Safety according to EN ISO 13849/Performance
Level
The graph for determining the required Performance Level (PL) is based on the identification of the risk and
the resulting need to reduce it to an acceptable level.

Low risk results in PL = a (low risk mitigation measures)

High risk results in PL = e (comprehensive risk mitigation measures)
