5.2.4 Flow control
The water flow to the brew group can be controlled using the flow control (6,
Fig. 2). The brewing pressure can be read off of the integrated brew group
gauge. The flavor can be altered by adjusting the water flow before or during
the espresso preparation process.
Setting a regular flow rate (stock flow)
This setting is suitable for preparing a classic espresso with a fast pressure
build-up to approx. 9 bar. The water output in this setting corresponds to
around 10 to 12 g per second.

First, fully close the flow control.

Open the flow control approx. 1¼ turns.
Setting the desired flow rate
Turn the flow control to the desired setting until the optimal flow rate is
achieved. To find the optimal setting, it is recommended not to change any
other parameter such as espresso, coarseness, quantity, etc., at the same
time.

Open the flow control.
Turn the flow control counterclockwise to the de-
sired setting.
Turn to the stop to fully open the flow control.
Close the flow control.
Turn the flow control clockwise.
Turn to the stop to fully close the flow control.
