Leak Check

To ensure a safe, environmentally friendly, and econom-
ic operation, the unit performs a software-controlled
self-test in regular intervals (every 10 days). During this
test, the components containing refrigerant are pres-
surized and monitored for pressure decay, which could
indicate a leak.
i
At startup, if a Leak Check is required, the ACS 661
displays
Connect hoses to storage ports
and open valves
1. Connect the service hose couplings to the storage
ports at the rear of the ACS 661.
2. Open the couplings by turning the collars clockwise.
i
Leak Check may also be selected at any time from
the Setup Menu. If you decline to run the Leak
Check when prompted, the ACS 661 will continue to
prompt for the test at each power-up until the test is
completed.
3. Open the high-side and low-side panel valves on the
ACS 661's control panel.
4. Press F1 to start.

and displays
 If the vacuum test fails, the ACS 661 will prompt
to check for leaks.
 Once the ACS 661 passes the vacuum test, a con-
trolled pressure is applied to its internal compo-
nents. The ACS 661 displays

 Pressure is held for five minutes and monitored
for decay. Minutes and seconds count down on
the display.
R
If an acceptable pressure decay is detected,
ACS 661 recovers refrigerant and returns to the
Setup Menu, ready for normal operation.
R
If an unacceptable pressure decay is detected,
ACS 661 will prompt to check for leaks. Take the
ACS 661 to Bosch for repair.
WARNING: To prevent personal injury
should the ACS 661 require transport to a
local Bosch service center, follow local gov-
ernment regulations regarding transporta-
tion of equipment containing R1234yf.

The oil inject functionality in this ACS 661 is automatic
and timing-based. Many variables can affect the accu-
racy.
If you are using very high or low viscosity oils, or if you
are operating at very high or low ambient temperatures,
an adjustment of the oil inject correction factor may
be necessary for the ACS 661 to produce accurate oil
injections.

Oil Inject Adjust

Pay attention on using the proper fresh oil (PAG or
POE) depending on vehicle under service.
Oil injection is timed and not based on a scale
reading. To preserve accuracy, depending on oil
type to be injected and the ambient temperature the
ACS unit is operating, a correction factor has to be
entered referring to the following table.

CAUTION: To avoid chemical incompatibil-
ities with the internal components of the
ACS 661, use only oils approved by the
vehicle manufacturer. Problems resulting
from the use of non-approved oils will can-
cel the warranty.
adjust the correction factor of Oil Inject.

ject more oil or decrease to inject

Acceptable values consist of any number between
0.01 and 1.00.
R
A correction factor of 1.00 lengthens the oil
inject duration time, increasing the amount of oil
injected.
