Evacuate the Vehicle A/C System

Vacuum
WARNING: To prevent personal injury while
working with refrigerant, read and follow
the instructions and warnings in this manu-
al, and wear protective equipment such as
goggles and gloves.
1. Connect the service hoses to the vehicle's service
ports.
2. Open the service hose coupling valves by turning the
collars clockwise.
3. Open the high-side and low-side panel valves on the
ACS 661's control panel.
4. Press the vacuum button.
5. Press F1 to accept the 15-minute default evacuation
time or enter a desired vacuum time using the num-
ber keys. Press F1.

The vacuum process will halt if pressure rises above
0.35 bar (5 psi). Recover refrigerant before proceed-
ing.
6. The ACS 661 pulls a vacuum on the A/C system for
the programmed amount of time.
7. The ACS 661 stops when the specified amount of
time has elapsed.

Print out vacuum information by selecting F1.
Press F2 to return to the Select Action screen.

Flushing the Hoses

WARNING: To prevent personal injury while
working with refrigerant, read and follow
the instructions and warnings in this manu-
al, and wear protective equipment such as
goggles and gloves.
If the next vehicle to be serviced contains a different
type of oil than the previous vehicle serviced, it is rec-
ommended the service hoses be flushed of residual oil
to prevent contamination.
1. Select Flush Hoses from the Setup Menu.
 The ACS 661 displays
storage ports and open valves
2. Connect the service hoses to the ACS 661's flush
port connections.

3. Open the service hose coupling valves by turning the
collars clockwise.
4. Open the high-side and low-side panel valves on the
ACS 661's control panel.
5. Press F1 to begin the hose flush process, which runs
for three minutes, followed by a recovery.
 When the hose flushing process is compete, the
display reads Flush Hoses complete
6. Press F2 to exit and return to the Setup Menu.
7. Close the coupling valves by turning the collars
counterclockwise.
8. Close the panel valves on the ACS 661's control
panel.
