PROFINET System Setup

Connect all QuantumX modules via FireWire to each other or use the back­
plane and include in the overall setup a CX27 gateway.
Connect CX27C to PROFINET using an Ethernet cable (RJ45 connector, min.
Cat5e). The PROFINET bus does not need termination resistors as active
nodes are involved. A default device description file (GSDXML) is available for
download from hbm or you generate it with the software MX Assistant. The file
enables you to configure the master in a simple way (chapter PROFINET data
integration workflow)

Sending Cyclically Data to PROFINET

QuantumX / SomatXR MX modules are NOT clocked from the PROFINET
controller (full isochronous operation).
Example: You set a 2 ms real-time loop in the controller and on the field bus.
QuantumX data is oversampled with 1200 Hz and ready whenever the bus
requests that data.
You are able to set an individual IP address on the PROFINET port by using
the software MX Assistant and the setting dialogue.
