Purpose of this operating manual
This operating manual contains information about the Industrial Ethernet Gate­
way CX27C of the QuantumX and SomatXR measuring amplifier family. It is
designed to provide support for you integrating the measurement modules into
real-time automation tasks.
Starting with firmware version 4.32, CX27C supports EtherCAT and
PROFINET Device IRT. The old-generation CX27B still supports EtherCAT like
before.
The documentation for the QuantumX family consists of:
S A printed Quick Start Guide for initial start-up (paper document)
S This operating manual (pdf format)
S The general operating manual for QuantumX (pdf format)
S A comprehensive help in HTML format with index and easy search options
which is available after the installation of a software package (e.g.
QuantumX Assistant, catman EASY).
This documentation is subject to changes and revisions. Updated versions are
published on the corresponding product pages of our website, www.hbm.com.
Further information
EtherCAT is an open standard (IEC/FDIS 61158), therefore note the informa­
tion available from www.ethercat.org as an additional source that may be
necessary.
CANopen documentation can be requested from the user organization CAN in
Automation (CiA) (www.can‐cia.de).
