Message Acknowledgment message
The BMD SAE J1939 does not support sending
of a Connection Abort message when
transmission is defective. If transmission is
defective, the connection is closed, the data
rejected and no End of Message
Acknowledgment message is sent.

The BMD SAE J1939 does not support
specifying a maximum number of Data Transfer
messages in Byte 5 of the Request to Send or
in Byte 2 of the Clear to Send message.
2.3
Name in the SAE J1939 network
The BMD appears in an SAE J1939 network with a unique
Manufacturer Code and a unique Identity Number, which
can be used to identify each device. The Manufacturer
Code and the Identity Number are contained in the name
of each SAE J1939 device. The name is sent with the
Address Claimed Message (seeTab. 2-8 on page 9)
and is comprised of the non-changeable fields Arbitrary
Address Capable, Manufacturer Code and Identity
Number as well as the changeable fields Industry Group,
Vehicle System Instance, Vehicle System, Function,
Function Instance and ECU Instance. The changeable
fields can be configured using PGN 0x00B100 (45312
(see section 5.1 on page 17).
