5.6 Address of the BMD SAE J1939 –
PGN 0x00FED8
Configuration of the address of the BMD SAE J1939 is
done using the PGN 0x00FED8 (65240
address is immediately applied. Since the data length of
the PGN 0x00FED8 (65240 ) is 9 bytes, sending requires

use of a Multi-Packet-Broadcast transmission (see
section 2.2.1 on page 6).
The new address is immediately applied and using the new
address of the BMD SAE J1939 an Address Claimed
Message (see Tab. 2-8) is sent. The same state machine
as for normal starting of the BMD SAE J1939 is used (see
section 2.5 on page 9).
The value is not written to non-volatile memory until after a
save command using PGN 0x00B500 (46336
section 5.5 on page 20).
