The BMD SAE J1939 contains an free field in which any
information up to a maximum length of 75 bytes can be
stored. This field is output on request by the

Output of the field is either until the end of the 75 bytes or
when a byte having the value 0x00 (0
reached.

Requesting the free field
If the free field contains more than 8 bytes,
transmission is via a Multi-Packet Broadcast
(see section 2.2.1 on page 6). The free field
request must be sent to the global address
