10. REMOTE CONFIGURATION USING A TELEPHONE

To configure the SL6 dialling unit remotely,
the device must first be set to configuration
mode via voice communication mode. To enter
the voice communication mode, the port of
the dialling unit must be called and, if several
dialling units are used for one phone number,
the desired device must also be selected by
post-dialling the device number.

Dial the phone number of the dialling unit. For
GSM or LTE interface circuit boards or gate-
ways, call the telephone number of the SIM
card used. When connecting via an extension,
this extension must be given an extension
number that can be reached via the public
telecommunications network.

10.1. Configuration examples

If the process needs to be restarted, dial * 9 9 * 1 # to reset to default settings. These are
examples only. A complete list of parameters and values can be found in the "Parameter list".

If only one dialling unit is connected, the
device will answer with 3 long beeps. If sev-
eral dialling units are connected, only a short
sound is emitted and the device number must
be dialled to communicate with the desired
device. If there is no response (3 long beeps),
repeat the entry of the device number.

When 3 long beeps are emitted, the selected
device has been reached and voice communi-
cation is established. Now the phone beeps
every 5 seconds. This informs the passen-
gers that a call is taking place (interception
protection).
