RSSI
The RSSI (Radio Signal Strength Indicator) is a unitless,
relative value between 0 and 100. A higher value signals a
better signal strength of the response from the data carrier
and is influenced by the positioning from the data carrier to
the read/write head and by soiling that affects the RF field
(e.g. metal filings).
The value can be used during commissioning to optimize
the alignment of the read/write head to the data carrier.
Monitoring this value against the same value at the time of
commissioning can allow early detection of degradation.
