Flexion contracture
Greater than 5 degrees
The following conditions have to be met to ensure there is a strong connection between the mag­
netic bottom shell, medial side rail and connection adapter:
• All six screws always have to be used.
• The screws have to be tightened by turns several times to a torque of 10 Nm until all screws
turn no further.
• The screws are re-tightened after 30 minutes and secured with 636K13 adhesive as
described above.
6.4 Finishing the prosthetic socket
Installing the socket adapter
The socket adapter can be selected from the list of possible combinations (see page 25).
Use the supplied countersunk head screws (M6x12 and M6x16) to install the socket adapter on
the connection adapter.
A medial or lateral installation position can be used for the socket adapter depending on the
residual limb position. When socket adapters with a centring collar are used, two 4Y19 pressure
plates have to be installed between the socket adapter and connection adapter. When a socket
adapter with pyramid receiver is used, note that a collision between the received pyramid of the
connecting component and the connection adapter has to be prevented. One or more 4Y19 pres­
sure plates may have to be installed.
The longest possible screws must be used for each screw connection. If the longest screws col­
lide with the medial side rail, the shorter screws have to be used.
6.5 Verification of function and fit
Inspecting the liner edge
The liner edge should be 1-2 cm higher than the socket brim.
If pressure on the medial socket brim is excessive when checking the fit, the socket can be
shortened. This shifts the pressure to the distal area of the socket.
If the pressure on the residual limb end is too high when checking the fit, the socket can be exten­
ded.
Exchanging fabric adhesive strips for plastic adhesive strips

If the prosthetic suspension between the 6Y200=* Varos liner and prosthetic socket is not suffi­
cient (common for people with a higher mobility grade of MOBIS 2 or more and a short residual
limb), the fabric adhesive strips can be replaced by plastic adhesive strips.
The highly adhesive plastic strips make it more difficult to take the socket off. Therefore, it is
recommended to initially replace only the fabric adhesive strips in the lateral socket shell with
