When you lower the siderails, listen for a click to indicate that the siderail locks into position. Pull on the siderail to make
sure the siderail locks.
To lower the siderail to the intermediate position, press the siderail release (N) ( Product illustration (page 12)) and rotate
•
the siderail forward until the siderail stops at the intermediate position (Figure 13).
•
To lower the siderail to its lowest position, press and hold the siderail release and rotate the siderail to the lowest
position (Figure 14).

The bed extender allows you to extend the length of the product by 12 in. (30.5 cm).
To extend the bed extender:
1. Grasp and squeeze the bed extender release handle (R) ( Product illustration (page 12)).
2. Continue to squeeze the bed extender release handle and pull to extend the bed extender until it stops.
3. Release the bed extender release handle to lock the bed extender in place.
N N o o t t e e - - Push and pull on the footboard to confirm that the bed extender is locked.
4. Place the foot extender mattress ( Accessories and parts (page 40)) onto the bed extender.
To retract the bed extender:
1. Remove the foot extender mattress ( Accessories and parts (page 40)) from the bed extender.
2. Grasp and squeeze the bed extender release handle (R) ( Product illustration (page 12)).
3. Continue to squeeze the bed extender release handle and push to retract the bed extender until it stops.
4. Release the bed extender release handle to lock the bed extender in place.

There are six patient restraint strap tie-in locations on the litter assembly to secure patient restraint straps. Two are located
on the Fowler section, two are located on the Gatch section, and two are located on the foot section (Figure 15).
