Sequences

Sequences are fully automatic processes in which drives are moved and/or the blade
is heated when the cover is closed . A sequence is terminated if the cover of the
®
BioWelder
TC opens . Only sequences for which the user has authorization and which
the user can execute with the current machine status are available on the user inter-
face . For example, an Operator cannot start a validation or the welding is possible
only after an initialisation is successfully run . The following chapter explains the
special features of the various sequences .
7.1

Initialise axes

All axes are initialised in this sequence . During initialisation all component systems
are tested to ensure greater process safety in the welding process .
The device decides when an initialisation is needed and prompts the user to do it
(e.g. after the machine is switched on).
Closing the cover starts the initialisation, and it can be stopped at any time .
The initialisation sequence is aborted . Initialisation can be restarted at any time .
7.2

Weld

The welding process is described in Chapter 4 .4 Function . Read Chapter 5 .9 Welding
to find out how a welding process is started .
A welding process can be aborted by the user through the Stop button. It is
impossible to stop the sequence during the critical section. During this section
the Stop button in the operator control disappears.
If the user aborts a welding process through the Stop button, the device
automatically reverts to the starting position. Read more about it in
Chapter 7.3 Reverse.
7.2.1

Critical section

The critical section of a welding process is that range in which the automatic sequence
of the welding process should in no way be discontinued . The critical section begins
when the tubes are separated by the blade and ends after they are welded .
The user cannot abort the critical section of the welding process through the Stop
button . An abort during this section is possible only when there is network failure .
Such a network failure must be avoided . Therefore, never switch off the device .
We recommend the use of an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) .
A network failure during the critical section of the welding process must
absolutely be avoided.
If the welding process was nonetheless discontinued during this section because
of a network failure or another problem, try to minimize the damage by means
of a subsequent rewelding or reverse . For more about this, see Chapter 7 .2 .2 Abort in
the critical section .
