f Reset the defective device to the fac-
tory settings (see chapter 6.8 "Restore

f Cancel defective device from the radio
group (see chapter "Cancel a device

f Re-connect radio group with a
reduced number of devices
(see chapter "Cancel a device from a
radio group" on page 69).
To add a replacement device to the ra-
dio group, refer to the following chapters:

8 Maintenance

8.1 Maintenance
You must perform visual and functional
tests at regular intervals.
Visual inspection
Perform a visual inspection once a year:
f Make sure that the smoke intake lamella
are not blocked (e.g., by dust, dirt, paint).
f Make sure that the device is not damaged,
and is securely mounted on location.
Functional check
To ensure that the devices are operation-
al, you must check the function of each
device and the group using a test tone.
f If no test tone sounds, you must
replace the device.
Test tone device
As smoke alarm devices are electron-
ic devices, regularly trigger a test tone
(at least once a year):
f Press and hold the testing / stop but-
ton for about 2 to 3 seconds.
