Eliminating minor faults yourself

Before you call customer service:

Please check whether you can eliminate the fault yourself based on the following information.
Customer service will charge you for advice, even if the appliance is still under guarantee!

Refrigerator and freezer compartments

Possible cause
Appliance is in defrost mode.
Control setting too low.
Freezer compartment setting too
high.
Drawer not correctly fitted.
Appliance is not connected to the
power supply.
Fridge or freezer compartment has
been switched off via the control
panel.
The fuse has tripped.
Power failure.
Fault in the appliance.
Cooling coils are dirty.
Temperature is set too low.
Door does not close properly.

Temperature incorrectly set.

Rear vent (below drawer in fridge
compartment) is blocked.
Doors are opened too frequently
or left open for too long.
Fresh products still have room
temperature.
Odour intensive food stored.
Appliance interior dirty.
Remedial action
Normal operating condition.
Wait for 40 minutes; check
whether compressor switches on
again.
Do not exceed max. freezing
capacity.
Check position, reinsert if necessary.
Select a warmer temperature
(see Setting the temperature").
Replace fuse or switch on.
Wait until the power supply is
reconnected. If necessary, call an
electrician or the electricity supply
company.
Pull out the mains plug.
Notify customer service.
Cleaning.
Check and regulate if necessary.
Fridge incorrectly aligned.
Check for obstacles.
Check door seals, clean or check for
correct seating if necessary.

Check whether rear vent if blocked
by product.
Do not open door too frequently or for
too long. Arrange products so that
