Go through the thermocouple menu and
make the selections as required. Select
the DIRECT mode to simulate any
temperature within the range of the
chosen thermocouple type.
Adjustment resolution is 0.1 degree.

It is strongly recommended to use
compensation wires for thermocouple
simulations and measurements. Insert
the compensation wire lead ends into
the wire holes as indicated.
Turn hand tight each terminal screw to
fix the wires and make the proper
connections at the instrument side.
Make sure that you use the right type of
wires and that polarities are not
accidentally reversed. Select AUTO to
compensate the cold junction microvolts
automatically.

before plugging the test leads in.
Compensation in this case is required to
offset the cold junction com-
pensation microvolts generated by the
instrument under calibration. For this we
need to measure the temperature at the
instrument terminals. Instrument
terminal temperatures can be measured
by either a hand held thermometer or a
remote temperature probe.
