Shiftingtherearwheelbackwardslengthensthewheelbaseandthusprovidesforgreatersta-
bilityofthewheelchair.Shiftingtherearwheelforwards(onlyforadvancedwheelchairdrivers!)
relievestheloadonthecasters.Thisincreasesthemaneuverabilityofthewheelchair.Thecaster
wheelscanthenalsobeliftedmoreeasilytoclearobstaclessuchascurbsorsteps.
Loosenthescrewconnectionsfromthefitting(fig.37,seearrow)andremovethefitting.Shift
thefittingtothedesiredpositionandfirmlyretightenthescrews.
Thedistancebetweenrearwheelandsidepanelcanbecontinuouslyadjustedbyadjustingthe
counternutontheoutersideoftherearwheeladapter.
Whenchangingtheadjustmentsoriginallymadeinthefactory,twoothercomponentgroupsof
thewheelchairmustbereadjusted,refertoChapters6.3and6.4.

6.3 Setting the Wheel Camber and Toe-in (Fig. 38 – 40)
TherearwheeladapteroftheMotusallowsfordifferentcamberanglesettingsoftherearwheels
(0°and2.5°).Thegreaterthenegativecamberangleoftherearwheels,themoremanoeuvrable
thewheelchairbecomes.
Therearwheeladapteritselfhasawheelcamberof0°or2.5°,dependingonthearrangement
ofthewedge-shapedcamberwasherssetatthefactory.Thewheelcambercanbechanged
byturningroundthemountedcamberwashers.Proceedasfollows:
