6.4 Caster Trailing Adjustment (Fig. 41 – 44)
Aftertherearwheelshavebeenmountedintheappropriateposition,thecasterwheeljournal
anglemustbereadjusted.Thethreadedaxleshouldbeashorizontalaspossibleinrelationto
thegroundtoensureoptimaldrivingbehaviorofthewheelchair.Thecasteradapterallowsfor
continuousangleadjustment.
Removethecapfromcasterheadbearingwithascrewdriver(fig.41).Thenremovetheprotective
capfromthescrewconnectionontheframeinnerside(fig.42).
Loosentherearscrewconnectionasshowninfig.43.
Openthescrewconnectionoftheeccentric.Placethebubblelevelonthecasterwheeljournal
andadjusttheeccenterwithascrewdriver(fig.44).Retightenallscrewconnectionandputon
thecovercaps.
Thepropertorquefortighteningthescrewsis8 nm.
