6.5 Adjusting the Wheel Lock (Fig. 45)
Tochangethepositionoftherearwheels,firstloosentheattachmentscrewsoftheclamping
adaptersofthewheellockandpushthewheellockforward.Thenrepositiontherearwheels.The
wheellockshouldthenberemountedsuchthatthedistancebetweenthetiresandwheellock
boltsismax.5 mm whenthewheellockisnotactivated(fig.45;subjecttotechnicalchanges).
Accident risk.Thewheellocksareonlyeffectivewithsufficientairpressureandpro-
CAUTIOn
peradjustment.Theproperairpressureisindicatedonthesidewallofthetire.Itshouldbeat
least7 bar (350 kPa).Toensuresufficientbrakingeffect,useonlyoriginalrearwheelswithan
approvedradialexcursionofmaximally± 1 mm.
Makesuretofirmlyretightenallscrewsandnutsaftermakingadjustments.

Tightenthewheellockattachmentwithatorqueof10 nm.

6.6 Adjusting the Brake Force - Drum Brake (Fig. 46)
Inordertoachieveoptimalbrakingeffect,thebrakeforcecanbeadjustedbymeansofthe
adjustmentscrew(fig.46,item1).Thebrakeforceisincreasedbyturningthescrewcounter-
clockwiseanddecreasedbyturningthescrewclockwise.
Turntheadjustmentscrewcounter-clockwiseuntilfrictionalnoiseoccursattheturningwheel.Then
tightentheadjustmentscrewuntilthefrictionalnoisedisappears.Thewheelshouldrunfreely.
Afterfinishingtheadjustment,fastentheadjustmentscrewbytighteningthecounternut(fig.46,
item2)
Ensurethatthebrakeforceofbothrearwheelsisadjustedequally.
