Thefollowingtoolsarerequiredforrepairandmaintenance:
•Allenwrenches,sizes4and5mm
•Open-endwrenches,sizes:10mm,11mm,13mm,and24mm
•Setofscrewdrivers
•Torquewrench
•Tirelevers
•Tirepump
Allwheelchairusershaveexpectationsregardingwheelchairtype,accessories,seatingand
handling.YourMotusadaptivewheelchairoffersmanyoptionsthatpermitthewheelchairtobe
adaptedaccordingtoyourrequirements.Werecommendconsultingwithyourdealerortherapist
todeterminewhichwheelchairsettingswillworkbestforyou.
6.1 Adjusting Seat Height and Seat Inclination (Fig. 36)
Thehighertherearwheelisattachedtotheframe,themoretheseatinclinesdownward.This
hastwoeffects:
• First,thewheelchairhasagreatertendencytotiltbackwards.
• Secondly,theusersitsdeeperinthewheelchairandthushasmorestability.
Acarefulandsynchronizedheightadjustmentofboththerearwheelsandthecasterswillallow
toadapttheseatheighttotheuser'sindividualrequirements.
TheMotusoffersthepossibilitytochangeverticalpositionoftherearwheelbyshiftingtherear
wheeladapteralongtheframe.Loosenallfourscrewconnections(Fig.36,seearrow)and
removethescrews.Shifttheadaptertothedesiredpositionandfirmlyretightenthescrews.
Toachieveadditionalrearwheelpositions,therearwheeladaptercanbeturnedby180°.
Whentherearwheelpositionischanged,theangleofthecasteraxleinrelationto

thegroundalsochanges.Ensurethatthisangleisalwaysapprox.90°wide(seeChapter6.3).
Thewheellockmustbere-adjustedaswell(seeChapter6.4).
Makesuretofirmlyretightenallscrewsandnutsaftermakingadjustments.Theproper
InfORMATIOn
torqueforthescrewconnectionoftherearwheeladapteris8 nm.Thepropertorqueforthe
screwconnectionofthefittingis50 nm.
