rear until it comes to lie on the cover plate. Put a cloth
or a board underneath in order to avoid damages.
4 Put a basin having a volume of at least 7 litres
underneath the filler plug A.
5 Open the filler plug A so that the oil can come off.
6 Place the splitter on its feet again.
7 Fill in 7 litres of new hydraulic oil using a clean
funnel.
8 Retighten the filler plug.
9 Check the oil level after the first switching on.

Dispose of the used oil in a correct manner at a public col-
lection facility. It is prohibited to drop old oil on the ground
or to mix it with waste.
We recommend the following hydraulic oils:
Aral Vitam gf 22
BP Energol HLP­HM 22
Mobil DTE 11
Shell Tellus 22
or oils of same quality.
Do not use any other types of oil as they would influence
the function of the hydraulic cylinder.
When do I change the engine oil? Fig. 13
The oil must be replaced every 50 hours with the engi­
ne still warm. If necessary leave the engine running for
a short time.
• Place a suitable container with a minimum of 1 litre
capacity under the oil drain plug (A).
• First, open the oil drain plug (A) and then the oil filler
neck (B) and leave the entire engine oil flow using a
suitable hose or pipe.
• Close the oil drain plug (A) again and fill 0.6 litres of
clean engine oil into the oil filler neck (B).
• Then check the oil level using the dipstick (B).
Recommended engine oil
SAE 10W­30 or SAE 10W­40 (depending on opera­
ting temperature).

The machine may only be operated by people who are
well familiar with the contents of this manual.
Before use, check the intactness and perfect function of
the safety devices.
Before use, make yourself also familiar with the control
mechanisms of the machine, following the operating in­
structions.
The capacity of the machine indicated may not be sur­
passed. In no way may the machine be used for any other
purposes than splitting firewood.
In agreement with your country's laws, the personnel
