g) Installing the tail unit servo

• To control both rudders, two micro-servos (e.g. Conrad
order no. 223142) required.
• Before installing the servos in the fuselage, it is logical
to prepare the servo levers (1).
To do this, expand one of the existing holes (ca. 10 mm
from the fulcrum in the servo lever) to 2 mm.
• The stud bolt is to be mounted by the same method as
per the aileron control linkage.
• A wide servo shaft is provided in the model, allowing
the servos to be moved sideways and thus be
individually positioned.
• Once the exact servo position is determined, pre-drill
the holes for the attachment screws and screw the
servos to the fuselage.
• Once you have slid on both bowden cable feedthroughs
(1), you can slide on the servo levers with the stud bolts
and attach then to the servo.
• Once again make use of the remote control unit to do so. The joystick for the side and elevator rudders and the
associated trim lever must be in the middle setting. Now position the servo lever in a 90° angle to the servo and
screw the lever tight.
• Then position both rudders exactly into the central position and tighten the grub screw in the stud bolt with an allen
key (see figure 12, pos. 2). Any excess linkage rod (see figure 12 pos. 3) can be removed using side cutters.
• Finally, the two bowden cable feedthroughs (see figure 12, pos. 1) are glued to the bowden cable casings and the
fuselage frame.
