f) Mounting the tail unit linkage

The elevator unit linkage (Figure 9):
• First trace the drill holes for the rudder lever (1) as per
the adjacent illustration and drill the holes with a 1.5
mm drill bit.
The holes in the rudder lever must be in line with the
elevator rudder hinge (see sketch).
• The hole in the fuselage (2) for the bowden cable casing
is ca. 9 cm in front of the rear edge of the fuselage.
The exact height of the hole can be deduced from the
straight-line positioning of the bowden cable from the
rudder clamp to the servo lever (see sketch).
Place the bowden cable exactly as it will be mounted,
outside on the fuselage and trace/mark the correct
height for the hole to be drilled.
• Then use a thin key file to extend the hole into a
lengthwise slit.
• Once you have inserted the curved end of the control
cable into the rudder clamp from the outside, you can
slide the control linkage rods into the fuselage and glue
the rudder clamp to the elevator rudder.
The overhanging ends of the rudder clamp pins are cut
off on the upper side of the elevator rudder with a sharp
knife.
• After you have shortened the bowden cable casing to
the required size (see figure 12 as well), glue the casing
to the fuselage by the fuselage feedthrough.
The side rudder linkage (Figure 10):
• The linkage of the side rudder is carried out by the same
method as for the elevator rudder. The hole in the
fuselage (2) for the bowden cable casing is however
ca. 8 cm in front of the rear edge of the fuselage.
