Cleaning and Maintenance
a) General information
Prior to cleaning or servicing, turn the vehicle off and completely separate the rechargeable battery pack
from the drive control unit. If you drive the vehicle beforehand, leave all parts (e.g. engine, drive control,
etc.) to cool down completely first.
Clean the whole vehicle of dust and dirt after driving, e.g. with a long-haired clean brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Compressed air aerosols can also be helpful.
Do not use cleaning aerosols or conventional household cleaners. This may damage the electronics and
lead to discolouration on the plastic parts or the body.
A soft cloth, slightly dampened can be used to wipe the car body. Do not rub too firmly to avoid scratch marks.
Motor vibrations and shocks during driving can loosen parts and screw fittings. This is why you should check the
tightness of wheel nuts and all screw fittings before or after every use. The same applies for other parts of the vehicle.
Nonetheless, do not use force when tightening the screws! Screws which are inserted into plastic parts will
be overtightened or "threaded" and will no longer sit tightly.
If, for example, the wheel nuts are excessively tightened, the bearings/wheel bearings will jam, this increases
the power usage of the electric motor and leads to overheating of the drive control unit and electric motor
as well as a reduction in vehicle speed.
Check if the tyres sit correctly on the wheel rims and if the adhesives have loosened.
Only the differential requires lubrication/greasing, as already described in the construction instructions. The other
parts of the vehicle should only be cleaned of dust and dirt, greasing will not be of use - in fact dust and dirt build up
very quickly on these parts which leads to increased wear.
If worn-out or defective vehicle parts must be replaced, use original spare parts only.
Make sure that no cables are pinched or caught and that cable cannot enter or become entangled in moving parts or
the drive.
Check the model for damage before each use. If you notice any damage, the car must not be used anymore and has
to be taken out of operation.
