Problem
The spray gun makes a noise,
but no material is sprayed
when I press the trigger
The spraying results are poor
Cause
The spray device needs to be bled.
The ventilation/pressure release valve is in
up position.
The suction pipe is missing or is attached
incorrectly.
The screen or ventilation hole in the suction
pipe is clogged.
The suction pipe o-rings are damaged or
missing.
The nozzle is not in spraying position.
The nozzle is clogged.
The nozzle filter is clogged.
The pressure controller setting is too low, or
the Hi/Lo switch is in the lo position.
The spray device has been angled too stee-
ply and the suction pipe has lost contact
with the material.
There is no material or too little material in
the container.
The intake valve is clogged due to material
residues in the spray gun.
The pump is clogged, frozen, or soiled on
the inside.
Material is escaping through the opening on
the front of the spray gun.
The nozzle is partly clogged.
The nozzle is not in the correct position.
Wrong nozzle for applying the material.
The nozzle filter is partly clogged or dama-
ged.
The screen in the suction pipe is partly
clogged.
The nozzle is worn or damaged.
The sprayed material has been aerated due
to shaking it.
The pressure controller setting is too low, or
the Hi/Lo switch is in the lo position.
The material is too cold for spraying.

Remedy
Bleed the pump. See Starting up on
Page 132. If the spray gun does not ven-
tilate, follow the troubleshooting steps
on page 142.
Turn the valve downwards to spraying
position.
Check to ensure that the suction pipe is
installed properly.
See cleaning the device on page 136.
Replace the suction pipe o-rings.
Turn the nozzle to spraying position.
See Eliminating nozzle blockages on
page 135.
Remove the filter and clean it; see page
136.
Set a higher pressure at the controller,
or set the Hi/Lo switch to Hi.
Make sure that the container is filled
with material. Turn the suction pipe.
Do not angle the container too steeply.
Bleed the pump; see Starting up on
page 132.
Fill the container with material and
bleed the pump.
Move the intake valve with a pencil or
a thin rod to check if it moves up and
down freely. See Removing/maintaining
the intake valve on page 143.
See Repairing the intake valve on page
144, and Removing/maintaining the
intake valve on page 143.
The spray gun has reached the end of
its service life. Please replace the spray
gun.
See Eliminating nozzle blockages on
page 135.
Turn the nozzle to the spray position.
See the selection table on page 133.
Clean or replace the filter; see page 136.
Clean the suction pipe, or replace it; see
page 136.
Replace the nozzle; see page 134.
Do NOT shake the material. Stir the
material or follow the manufacturer's
recommendations for the material to be
sprayed.
Set a higher pressure at the controller,
or set the Hi/Lo switch to Hi.
Warm the material.
