8. Turn the nozzle to cleaning position and spray for 5
seconds into a catchment container to ensure that the
spray gun is bled.
9. Move the ventilation/pressure relief valve to the up
position to relieve the pressure; turn the spray nozzle back
to spraying position and move the ventilation/pressure
relief valve down to the spraying position. The spray gun
is now ready for spraying. Complete the steps on page
132, Starting up.
Removing/maintaining the intake valve
Take the spray gun to a safe location before servicing.
1. Lock the trigger lock and move the ventilation/pres-
sure relief valve to the up position to relieve the pres-
sure.
2. Remove the material container, suction pipe and
power pack.
3. Turn the spray gun upside down and use a socket
spanner to remove the intake valve housing, the
intake valve and the spring.
Note:
Make sure that you remove the spring. Use pointed pliers
to remove it, if needed. The intake area should be totally
empty (as shown below).
4. Clean off any excess material from the intake cavity.
Also clean the spring (a), the intake valve (b), the o-ring
(c) and the top side of the intake fitting (d).
5. Use a thin wire to make sure that the intake valve
moves freely. If the valve does not move freely, repair the
intake valve as described on page 144.
