8.6 Burst output (PeakTech
Pressing the key of () and selecting "CHB Burst", the burst signal will be output from the port of "output B". In
the burst graph on the top left of the screen, the output signal outputs groups of pulse series waveform
according to the burst frequency. There is a settled period for each group and a certain interval time
between groups of pulse series.
8.6.1 Setting of frequency of channel B:
Signal of channel B is a burst output signal. The frequency and amplitude of channel B should be settled
first. The setting method has been described in 3.3.
8.6.2 Setting of burst counting:
Pressing the key of (Option 3) and selecting "Cycles", the counting value of burst pulse series will be
changed to green. It can be settled by the keys or by the knob. If the burst frequency is fixed, the setting of
maximum burst counting will be limited. The smaller the burst frequency, the longer the burst period.
Contrarily, the burst period will be the smaller. If the burst frequency is not fixed, the burst counting value
can be settled first and then the burst frequency value is adjusted. The appropriate interval time should be
guaranteed between groups of pulse series.
8.6.3 Setting of burst frequency:
Pressing the key of (Option 4) and selecting "Rate", the burst frequency value will be changed to green. It
can be settled by the keys or by the knob. The burst frequency can be settled according to the frequency of
channel B and the magnitude of burst counting. The product of period of channel B and the burst counting
value, the time value taken by a group of pulse series, is computed. The period of burst (the reciprocal of
"burst frequency") should be greater than it to keep the appropriate interval between groups of pulse series.
Otherwise, the groups will be linked together and they cannot be burst signals.
8.6.4 Start burst phase:
The start phase, for each group of burst signals, is adjustable. Press the keys of (Shift) () to adjust the
phase roughly and Press the keys of (Shift) () to adjust the phase finely.
8.6.5 Setting of single burst:
Pressing the key of (Option 5) and selecting "Single", the continuous burst will be stopped and the output
signal is 0. Every pressing of the key of (Option 5) will lead to one operation process of burst. According to
the settled burst counting, a group of pulse series waveform with certain numbers is output. If the burst
counting is set to be 1, the output of single pulse is manual. If the "Single" is not selected, the burst process
will resume to the continuous state. The burst counting function can also be used to test the dynamic
characteristics of sound equipment as well as calibrate the counter.
8.7 Burst output (PeakTech
In burst mode, the instrument outputs a waveform with a specified number of cycles and at a specified
period at a starting phase, or it outputs a waveform with a specified number of cycles only single once. The
burst signal is sine wave usually, but square, ramp or arbitrary waveform can also be used. Of course,
using DC or noise signal as burst signal is useless.
