6.1.3 Sweep time:
Tt represents the time required to sweep from the start frequency to the stop frequency. The time interval to
sweep from one frequency to next one is constant, so more sweep time results in more sweep frequency
points and finer sweep step, vice visa. Its setting sweep time rang is 1 ms~500 s.
6.1.4 Sweep mode:
Press 〖Linear〗 softkey to select linear sweep mode or logarithmic sweep mode. In the linear sweep mode,
the output frequency varies in linear fashion. The linear sweep mode is suitable for narrow sweep frequency
range.
In logarithmic sweep, the output frequency varies in logarithmic fashion. This mode is suite for bigger sweep
frequency range.
6.1.5 Single sweep:
Press 〖Cont Swp〗softkey to select continuous sweep mode or single sweep mode. In the continuous
sweep, with internal trigger source, the sweep runs repeatedly, while in the single sweep, once you press
〖ManuTrigr〗sofykey, the sweep goes from the start frequency to the stop frequency and resets back to
the start frequency and the generator waits for the next trigger. External trigger is also available; the trigger
signal with TTL level can be inputted from the rear panel "Trig In" connector. The sweep process runs once
at the trigger signal's rising edge. Of course, the cycle of trigger signal should be longer than the sweep time
setting value.
6.1.6 Sync output:
When the frequency is sweeping, the generator will output a sync signal from the front panel "Sync"
connector. The sync signal is a pulse with TTL level, the rising edge of it corresponds to the start point, and
the falling edge corresponds to marker point, the pulse cycle is identical with the sweep time.
6.1.7 To set the frequency sweep
The output frequency changes from the start frequency to the stop frequency at a sweep rate which you set.
You can sweep up or down and with either linear or logarithmic spacing. Follow the steps to set a frequency
sweep waveform with 50 Hz start frequency, 5 kHz stop frequency and 1s sweep time.
First to set sine waveform with 1Vpp amplitude
6.1.7.1 Press【Sweep】key to enter the output interface of frequency sweep and "Frequency Sweep" is
displayed on the upper-left of screen.
6.1.7.2 The current selected option is "start frequency" and set it to 50 Hz by using numeric keys or knob.
6.1.7.3 Press 〖Start〗softkey to select "stop frequency" and set it to 5 kHz by using numeric keys or knob.
6.1.7.4 Press〖Swp Time〗softkey to select "sweep time" and set it to 1s by using numeric keys or knob.
