of the workpiece. Mind the position of your hand. If narrow pieces are cut off,
the workpiece is moved forward in the tool area only with the right hand or
by using a push stick. If there is a risk that the workpiece might get jammed
between circular saw blade, splitting wedge and stop, the stop must be pulled
back to the middle of the saw blade or a short additional stop must be used.
The upper extraction cover was only indicated in the figures or omitted in indi-
vidual cases in order to show the process step or equipment more clearly.
The upper extraction cover is required for all depicted process steps.

Cutting narrow workpieces (Fig. 14)
Be sure to use a push stick (22) when making longitudinal cuts in workpieces
smaller than 120 mm in width. A push block is supplied with the saw! Repla-
ce a worn or damaged push stick immediately.
Tool: circular saw blade for longitudinal cuts
Process steps: Adjust the longitudinal stop according to the intended width
of the workpiece. Move the workpiece forward with both hands; use the push
stick in the saw blade area and push the workpiece forwards until it is be-
hind the splitting wedge. Use the push stick from the beginning for very short
workpieces.
Cutting extremely narrow workpieces
Be sure to use a push block when

making longitudinal cuts in very narrow
workpieces with a width of 30 mm and
less.
The low guide face of the longitudinal
stop is best used in this case.
