The three steps for connecting the tube using the single-piece connector are:
1. Insert tube into the connector to make the
connection.
2. The tube is inserted, but the connector is
still unlocked.
3. Connector is locked at both ends.
3.4 Replacing the Suprasorb
Avoiding infections
Infectious and pathogenic microbes in the exudate can pose health risks.
• Wear appropriate disposable gloves when replacing the exudate pouch.
• Replace the exudate pouch including the exudate pouch tube in accordance with
the respectively applicable hygiene regulations, at least every week, before every
new patient or when full.
• Cleaning is required whenever there is a new patient.
CAUTION
Cleaning means that all the single-use products are disposed of and the
Suprasorb
• The exudate and all components contaminated with it must be disposed of in
accordance with the facility's policies. Please also follow the instructions for use
supplied with these products.
Exudate pouch
• Ensure that the exudate pouch for the Suprasorb
regularly. When the exudate pouch is full, the integrated overflow prevention system
is triggered. This interrupts the therapy.
CAUTION
• Switch the device to Pause mode when replacing the exudate pouch.
