" Hints" are explained in § 5. The time and the number of
hints affect the score. If you use the " Solve" feature (see § 5),
this is equivalent to using a series of hints, and your score
may be reduced to 0.
While solving the puzzle, you may touch
the time. A second touch on this button displays the " given"
numbers of the puzzle. After another touch, you can
continue solving.

3.4 Special Sudoku features

Retract and replay: You can retract a series of entries by
repeatedly touching the

Locked numbers: To " lock" or " unlock" a number you have
entered, point to it and then touch the

inside a " flashing" box in the space above the grid.
While locked, the number cannot be deleted or
overwritten. This is helpful if you are certain that the number
is correct.
Display of legal numbers: The computer can show you all
the " legal" numbers for any particular square, i.e. all those
which may be inserted there without " clashing" with another
number in the same row, column or block.
To use this feature, touch the

" boxes" – in the space above the grid.
To switch this feature off, touch
" Candidate" numbers: This feature is available whenever
