difficulty of the puzzle. In other activities, it automatically
tries to give you puzzles that suit your proficiency.
According to the scores you obtain, the level is raised or
lowered.

SUDOKU PUZZLES
3.1 Selecting the level
After you select Sudoku from the menu, a " flashing"
number in the middle of the screen denotes the current level.
Level 1 is easiest, 12 is hardest. (For Level 0, see " setting
up a puzzle" in § 3.4.) To increase or decrease the number,

3.2 Solving a puzzle
The 9x9 grid is subdivided into nine " blocks" of 3x3
squares each. At the beginning of the puzzle, some squares
