5.1.1 Economy Mode
The device automatically switches over to economy mode to save power. There are two stages:
(a) After about one minute the Display <1> will be dimmed. Press the Data Selector <2> to reset the il-
lumination to the value configured in the settings menu (refer to

How to Start up the Device
(1) Insert the therapy card with the chip side facing down into the Card Reader <4>.
NOTICE
If the card is defective or incompatible, a respective error message will be displayed.
(2) Press the Data Selector <2> for about one second. You will hear a signal tone, the Display <1> will
be illuminated and the welcome screen with the start menu will be displayed.

(1) Press the Data Selector <2> for about five seconds. The Display <1> goes out.
(2) Remove the therapy card and unplug the cables from the Ports <3>.
5.3 Function Check
A function check is always necessary when you are unsure about whether the device is working properly.
How to Check the Function of the Device
(1) Press the Data Selector <2> for several seconds until the device switches off.
(2) Press the Data Selector <2> again until the device switches on:
• If the device is working properly, the available options are displayed on the Display <1>. Addi-
