• Use only lubricants recommended by the manu-
facturer.
• Avoid direct contact with the tool attachment during
and after use, as it may be hot or have sharp edges.
• Wear personal protective equipment and always
safety goggles. Protective equipment such as pro-
tective gloves, protective clothing, a dust mask,
non-skid safety shoes, safety helmet or hearing
protection depending on the type and use of the de-
vice, reduces the risk of injury and is recommended.
Hazards due to repetitive movements
• When working with the compressed air tool, un-
pleasant sensations may occur in the hands, arms,
shoulders, neck or other parts of the body.
• When working with the compressed air tool, adopt
a comfortable position, ensure a secure hold and
avoid awkward positions or those where it is difficult
to keep your balance. The operator should change
posture during long periods of work, which can help
to avoid discomfort and fatigue.
• If the operator experiences symptoms such as per-
sistent discomfort, aching, throbbing, pain, tingling,
numbness, burning or stiffness, these warning signs
should not be ignored. The operator should report
these to their employer and consult a qualified doctor.
Hazards due to accessories
• Disconnect the compressed air tool from the air sup-
ply before attaching or changing the tool attachment
or accessory.
• Use only accessories that are intended for this de-
vice and that meet the requirements and specifica-
tions specified in this operating manual.
• Never use chisels as a hand tool. They are special-
ly designed for use in the non-rotating percussive
compressed air tool and have been heat-treated
accordingly.
• Never use blunt chisels, as excessive pressures are
needed for these application and fatigue fractures can
result. Blunt tools can lead to increased vibrations.
Sharp tool attachments should therefore always be
used.
• Never cool hot accessories in water. This can lead
to brittleness and premature failure.
• Do not misuse the tool attachment as a lever (e.g. for
prising). This can cause the chisel to break or be-
come damaged. Work in small sections to avoid
getting stuck.
• Avoid direct contact with the tool attachment during
and after use, as it may be hot or have sharp edges.

Hazards in the workplace
• Slips, trips and falls are major causes of workplace
injuries. Watch out for surfaces that may have be-
come slippery due to use of the compressed air tool
and for tripping hazards caused by the air hose.
• Proceed with caution in unknown environments.
There may be hidden hazards due to power cables
or other supply lines.
• The compressed air tool is not intended for use in
potentially explosive atmospheres and is not insu-
lated against contact with electrical power sources.
• Make sure that there are no electricity, water or gas
lines at the point to be worked on (e.g. with the help
of a metal detector).
Hazards due to dust and vapours
• The dusts and vapours generated by the use of the
compressed air tool can cause damage to health
(such as cancer, birth defects, asthma and/or der-
matitis); it is essential to carry out a risk assessment
in relation to these hazards and to implement ap-
propriate control mechanisms.
• The risk assessment should include the dust gener-
ated by the use of the compressed air tool and the
dust that may be stirred up in the process.
• The compressed air tool shall be operated and main-
tained in accordance with the recommendations
contained in this manual to minimise the release of
dust and vapours.
• The exhaust air must be discharged in such a way
that the whirling up of dust in a dust-filled environ-
ment is reduced to a minimum.
• If dust or vapours are generated, the main task must
be to control them at the point of release.
• All installation or accessory parts of the compressed
air tool intended to collect, extract or suppress fly-
ing dust or vapours should be properly used and
maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's
instructions.
• Select, maintain and replace consumables and the
tool attachment in accordance with the recommen-
dations in this manual to avoid an unnecessary in-
crease in dust or vapour development.
• Use respiratory protective equipment in accordance
with your employer's instructions or as required by
health and safety regulations.
