10. Troubleshooting
Always start by checking any error messages. When an error occurs in the system the cause is dis-
played on the Control Panel. This is only displayed when the status page on the Control Panel is active.
The boiler does not start on gas (Gas Failure)
NOTICE
If the heating system has not been operated for some time, or if the gas cylinder has been changed, it
may take longer than normal to start the boiler.
• No LPG?
• Is the main tap fully open?
• Check that the type of LPG used is suitable for the prevailing outdoor temperature. It is inappropriate
to use butane at temperatures below +10 °C. Use propane.
• Check that the 12 V fuse for the boiler has not blown.
• Check that power at 12 V is being supplied to the boiler (> 11 V); the current voltage can be read out
in the service menu.
• Check that the exhaust hose is secured properly between the boiler and flue and that it is not dam-
aged or blocked by dirt, condensation or water. The exhaust hose consists of two hoses, an inner
one and an outer one.
• Check that nothing prevents/clogs the exhaust fumes' way at the flue.
• Check that the gas pressure is correct. This can be done by lighting all burners on the gas stove,
after which the boiler is started with gas operation. If the flames on the stove reduces, the gas pres-
sure is incorrect.
• If the heating system has not been operated for some time, or if the gas cylinder has been changed,
it may take longer than normal to start the boiler. Try restarting the
• If DuoControl/MonoControl with Crashs ensor is installed, check that this has not triggered.
If none of the above helps, contact Alde Service Partner.
The electric heating cartridge does not work satisfactory
WARNING
Fire/explosion hazard
Power supply 230 V entails a risk of electric accident. Do not attempt to service electric heating
cartridges yourself.
• Check that the fuse for the boiler has not blown.
• Check that power at 12 V is being supplied to the boiler (> 11 V); the current voltage can be read out
in the service menu.
• Check that 230 V really is supplied to the boiler. Long and/or thin cables result in higher voltage
drops. The voltage may also be lower during certain conditions, e.g. if the electric hook-up at the
camp-site delivers lower voltage than 230 V, even a small deviation from 230 V results in high power
loss of the boiler.
• Check that the chosen electrical effect level in the panel is sufficient, see section 6.5 Energy sources.
• Check that potential load monitor (accessory) is installed correctly.
If none of the above helps, contact Alde Service Partner.
Poor or no heat (circulation in the heating system)
• Check that the symbol for circulation pump is shown at the status page during need of heating.
• Check that the circulation pumps work.
• Check that the heating system is bled.
