4. Commissioning of the heating system
CAUTION
Do not use the heating system if you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medicine and follow
the safety instructions carefully.
4.1 Checking the heating system before operation
• Check that the glycol mixture is at the correct level in the
expansion vessel for the heating system (see fig. 2). The
level should be approximately one centimetre over the
min.-line when the system is cold. Ensure that the system
is thoroughly bled before commissioning.
• Check that the flue is kept free of ice and snow, whereas
the inlet air for the boiler comes through the flue at gas
operation. Check also that no other objects obstructs or
disturbs exhaust and inlet air at the flue.
• Check the air circulation. To get full effect from the hydron-
ic heating it is important that the air can pass freely under
bunks and behind backrests and wall cabinets.

curtains, pillows and blankets do not obstruct the circulation of air behind backrests and wall cabinets.
4.2 Using the domestic hot water system
NOTICE
Hot water from the boiler is not intended as drinking water or for preparing food.
The heating system Alde Compact 3020 PS has a built-in hot water tank. Heating of the vehicle can
take place without having the hot water tank filled with water. The hot water tank can also be used
without heat circulating the vehicle, set desired room temperature and the heating system will handle
this function automatically.
WARNING Scalding injuries
Keep in mind that the water in the hot water tank might be hot.
NOTICE
Fresh water in the hot water tank shall always be drained at risk for frost, otherwise you risk freezing
the boiler. The warranty does not cover frost damage. Reduce the risk of freezing by installing a frost
control (art. no. 3010 430/431).
Do as follows
1. Make sure that the fresh water tank in the vehicle is filled with clean and uncontaminated water or con-
nected to a main water supply.
2. Fill the hot water tank in the heating system with water from the fresh water tank in the vehicle by
opening any tap in hot water mode and flush until water flows freely. If the heating system is used for
the first time or if it has not been used for a while, open any tap in the vehicle and let approx. 12 litres
of water flow through the tap.
3. Close all taps and start the heating system.
