8. Care and maintenance
CAUTION
Only specially adapted hoses and washers which are approved for using with gas may be installed.
Using of other kinds of hoses may lead to hose failure and leakage. Hoses and washers must be
changed according to national legislation and by a trained professional.
NOTICE
Have a professional check the LPG system regularly, preferably once a year, to ensure that cou-
plings and hoses are tight.
Gas hoses should be changed according to the hoses date stamp since they dry out and crack, with
potential leakage as consequence. For increased security it is recommended to install a Leak tester
type 4071 from Alde, as close to the gas pressure regulator as possible.
• Turn off the main power supply (12 V) to the heating system when it is not being used. The main
power supply should always be switched off when the vehicle is not being used.
• Close the tap on the gas bottle/tank.
8.1 Replacing the air cushion
The heating system is designed to have air space, a so called air cushion, at the top of the hot water
tank. The air cushion is absolutely essential to allow expansion of the water. But also to absorb possi-
ble pressure surges in the heating system, caused by the water pump. Always replace the air cushion
in the heating system after 10 days use. This is done by opening the lever on safety/drain valve for a
few seconds (fig. 13 or 14, depending on which valve has been installed in the vehicle).

8.2 Emptying of hot water tank and water pipes
WARNING
Scalding injuries
Keep in mind that the water in the hot water tank might be hot.
NOTICE
Check that the automatic check valve opens and lets air in to the boiler when draining,
and check that the hose is not blocked.
1. Turn off the fresh water pump.
2. Open all taps in centre position, so both hot and cold water flows out.
3. Open thereafter the safety/drain valve by turning the blue lever 90° (fig. 13) alternatively moving the
lever up to vertical position (fig. 14).
4. Check that all the water runs out (approx. 7-10 litres). Leave the valve open until the boiler is used
again.
For emptying of other water systems in the vehicle, see the manufacturer's instructions.
