The character set consists of an expanded IBM PC
ASCII character set without graphic characters:

Transmission of characters >127 or <32 within the
data:
Divided into 3 Bytes: DEL 4"High-Nibble" 4"Low Nibble"
Example: Character 81h (=ü) 7Fh48h41h is transmitted.
Commands
Commands and replies are transmitted between ETX
and STX.
READ command:
R<address>
Using the R command operating and display addresses
within the recorder can be read off. The recorder
answers with an answer code and the lower display line
of the respective address (16 characters).
Answer codes:
0..2:o.k.
3..6:Fault, only answer code will be transmitted
0: Address can be edited
1: Address can be released (eg. address 114: Print
operation parameter table)
2: Address cannot be edited
3: Address does not exist
4: Option within this address not available
5: Address not used at the moment
6: Address cannot be operated using the serial link
(eg. Address 115: Graphic parameter printout)
