a table extension. The second person must not stand at any
place other than at the discharge end of the table extension.
•
Secure larger workpieces against tipping. (e.g. for example
with a dolly)
•
All protective devices and covers must be installed before any
work is carried out on the machine.
•
With all work processes, connect the machine to a
scheppach suction system with a flexible, low-flammability
suction line. Observe the proper use of the machine with this.
The suction system must switch on autonomously with the
switching on of the panel sizing saw.
•
Observe the turning direction of the motor and the tool - see
„Electrical connection".
•
Ensure that you use the push rod with the longitudinal cutting
of narrow workpieces (smaller than 120 mm)
•
Lower the protective hood onto the workpiece with every
working operation.
•
The protective hood must be horizontal above the saw blade
with each working operation.
•
Renew the table insert if the sawing gap has become worn.
Remove the mains plug!
Tools
•
Only insert tools that comply with the European standard DIN
EN 847-1.
•
Use only saw blades that are well sharpened, free of cracks
and not deformed.
•
Do not use circular saw blades made from high performance
steel.
Protective clothing
•
Wear tight-fitting clothing. Take off jewellery, rings and wrist-
General
•
The machine complies with the applicable EC machinery
directive.
•
The scheppach panel sizing saw is defined as a machine per
EN 1870/-1.
•
The machine has a workstation which is located in front of the
machine to the left or right of the saw blade.
•
The working area and surroundings of the machine must
be kept free of disruptive foreign bodies in order to prevent
accidents
•
In principle, the workpieces to be processed must be free of
foreign bodies such as nails or screws.
•
The manufacturer assumes no liability for damages arising
from inappropriate use!
•
The machine is intended to be used in commercial applica-
tions.
•
The scheppach panel sizing saw is designed exclusively for
the processing of wood and wood-like materials.
Tool
•
Only original scheppach tools and accessories may be used.
Use the appropriate saw blade depending on the type of
cutting and the type of wood (solid wood, laminated wood or
chipboard) per EN 847-1. Observe the scheppach „Tools and
special accessories" .
The machine has been built according to the state-of-the-art
and the recognised technical safety requirements. However,
individual residual risks can arise during operation.
•
Risk of injury for fingers and hands due to the rotating cutting
tool with improper guiding of the workpiece.
•
Injuries due to the workpiece being ejected at high speed with
watches.
•
Wear hearing protection and protective goggles when working.
•
Wear gloves when replacing the saw blade.
•
Do not wear gloves during sawing operations
Storage and operating conditions
•
Operating conditions: Do not use the machine outside but only
in enclosed rooms.
•
Storage conditions: Air humidity must be at least 90% and
must be non-condensing.
Transport
•
Disconnect the machine from external power supplies, even
with minor changes in location! Re-connect the machine pro-
perly with the mains power before re-commissioning.
Maintenance and repairs
•
Have malfunctions that could influence safety dealt with imme-
diately.
•
Only carry out modifications, adjustments, measurements and
cleaning work with the motor switched off. Pull out the mains
plug and wait until the rotating tool has come to a standstill.
•
Reinstall all protection and safety equipment immediately after
finishing repair or maintenance work.
•
Have installation, repair and maintenance work on the electri-
cal system carried out exclusively by electricians.
•
Switch the machine off to rectify faults or to remove jammed
pieces of wood. Wait until the saw blade has come to a stand-
still. Remove the mains plug!
Proper use m
Suction system
•
Before start-up the machine must be connected to a suction
system with a flexible, low-flammability suction line. For ext-
racting the wood chippings or sawdust a suitable scheppach
suction system should be employed. The flow speed at the
suction nozzle must be 20 m/s. Negative pressure 1250 Pa.
•
The scheppach auto switch-on device is available as a
special accessory.
•
Type ALV2 item no. 79104010 230V 150 Hz
•
Type ALV10 item no. 79104020 400V 150 Hz When switching
on the tool the suction system will start up automatically
after a 2-3 second start-up delay. This prevents overloading
the workshop fuse or circuit breaker. After switching off the
tool the suction system continues to run for 3-4 seconds
afterwards and then switches off automatically. The residual
dust is thus extracted, as required by the hazardous materi-
al ordinance. This saves power and reduces the noise. The
suction system only runs whilst the tool is being operated. For
work in commercial areas the scheppach suction system
woova 7.0 must be employed for the extraction of the dust. Do
not switch off or remove the suction system whilst the tool is
running.
Residual risks m
improper holding or guiding, such as working without the stop.
•
Risk to health due to noise. The permissible noise level is
exceeded during operations. It is essential that personal pro-
tective equipment, such as hearing protection, is worn.
•
Injuries due to defective saw blade. Check the integrity of the
saw blade regularly.
