6.1.6 Temperature sensor (internal reference sensor)
The temperature sensor used for temperature regula�on and measurement is located directly in
the equaliza�on block. It provides temperature values that are as close as possible to the actual
temperature in the block, although certain devia�ons may occur due to the measurement
tolerance of the sensor.
6.1.7 Maximum temperature protec�on
The calibrator is equipped with a maximum temperature safety device that triggers when a certain
temperature is exceeded. In this case, proceed as follows:
• Wait for the calibrator to cool down, the temperature must bei around 40°C
(both LR- Cal PYROS 140

• Switch the calibrator off and then on again a few seconds later.
• If the problem persists, disconnect the calibrator from mains and follow the instruc�ons in
chapter 10 (Typical faults and their rec�fica�on).
6.1.8 Cooling fan
A fan is built into the calibrator, which operates at two different speeds on the

temperature of the calibrator low as the temperature rises and supports the cooling process.
ATTENTION: All openings at the bo�om, top and rear of the calibrator must remain clear so that
the air can flow properly.
6.2 Opera�ng instruc�ons
ATTENTION:
The calibrator can only be used if the user has a good knowledge of its basics.
Before star�ng with the calibra�on follow the installa�on procedures, see
chapters 3 and 4.
6.2.1 Calibra�on methods
Two different calibra�on methods can be used with the calibrator:
a) Calibra�on with temperature comparison between the test specimen and the
calibrator's internal reference sensor.
b) Calibra�on with temperature comparison between the test specimen and an external
reference temperature measuring device.
