5. Commissioning
IMPORTANT:
Always keep insert sleeves in their box during transporta�on.
IMPORTANT:
The factory configura�on of the calibrator is protected by two factory-set codes.
To access or change the configura�on, please follow the instruc�ons in chapter 7.2.
Do NOT change the factory configura�on. This avoids malfunc�on or damage to the
device (risk of serious injury).
This appliance is equipped with a mains cable with a Schuko plug. Do not under any
circumstances use reducers for Schuko plugs or similar. Do not use cables with plugs
other than those supplied. When switched on for the first �me, the calibrator may
emit unpleasant odors; this emission will cease a�er ini�al hea�ng.
5.1 Inser�ng insert sleeves into the metal block
Once the calibrator has been correctly installed, insert the insert sleeve (and the cover, if supplied)
into the block - with the device COLD.
Never allow insert sleeves to fall down.
DO NOT use any material such as thermal paste between the insert and the block.
A tool (tweezers) for inser�ng and removing insert sleeves is included in the scope of delivery. The
tool is hooked into the two small holes on the side of the sleeve.
IMPORTANT:
To avoid an odor in the room, it is be�er to switch on the calibrator for the first �me in
a par�cularly well-ven�lated environment.
Before transpor�ng the calibrator, the insert sleeve must be removed from the block
(this may only be done when the block in the device has reached ambient
temperature.
5.2 Inser�ng a test specimen into the metal block calibrator
IMPORTANT:
Only expose the test specimen to temperatures for which it is suitable.
A test specimen with a range of up to 100°C, for example, will be destroyed at 650°C.
To obtain the best possible results, follow the instruc�ons below:
• Measure the diameter of the probe of the test specimen.
• Please refer to Figure 3 (page a�er next) for an insert sleeve suitable for your test specimen and
the immersion depth of the test specimen.
