1. Introduc�on
1.1 Purpose of instruc�ons
This manual contains the opera�ng and maintenance instruc�ons that apply to the
following devices: Portable temperature calibrators Models
• LR- Cal PYROS 140-1L
• LR- Cal PYROS 140-2L
each complete with accessories. The user must observe all safety rules listed in this
manual for their own safety and to avoid device failures.
2. Descrip�on of the calibrator, technical data and scope of delivery
2.1 Descrip�on
The LR- Cal PYROS devices are compact and mobile metal block temperature calibrators for
checking and calibra�ng thermometers and temperature sensors in the laboratory, on board ships
and in the field, in accordance with the ISO 9000 standard. They also provide a means of thermal
tes�ng of materials and checking/adjus�ng thermostats, with visual feedback via working or alarm
thresholds.
The reduced response �me during the hea�ng and cooling phases and the fast stabiliza�on lead to
�me savings during mul�-point calibra�ons. The calibrator consists of an aluminum or copper
block with a bore in which block inserts are housed. The interchangeability of the inserts allows
sensors of different lengths and diameters to be tested. The calibrator is designed to reduce the
EMC effect in accordance with the harmonized regula�on for residen�al, commercial, light and
heavy industry. The devices are equipped with an RS232 serial interface which enables automa�c
opera�on via a PC. An RS232 to USB converter is available as an accessory.
