Bioimpedance measurements may only be performed on persons exhibiting the
following characteristics after discussion with the attending physician:
• Cardiac arrhythmias
• Pregnancy
The scale ist intended for Persons of all ages who do not exceed the maximum
capacity of the scale and who can stand independently on the scale – if available
– with support of a handrail.
The BIA-handrail ist indented for Persons taller than 130 cm. Persons must be
able to stand indepentently and upright. Persons also need to be able to reach
hand and foot electrodes with all four limbs.
The measuring rod is indented for Persons of all ages (with the exception of ba-
bies), whose height lays within its measuring range. Persons must be able to
stand independently – if necessary with the help of a handrail – while being mea-
sured.
Devices shipped partly assembled may only be assembled by sufficiently quali-
fied persons (such as specialist dealers, hospital technicians or seca Service
technicians).
The device may only be set up and incorporated in a network by experienced
administrators or hospital technicians.
Typical formal education: Doctor, Nurse, Therapist, Fitness Trainer, Sports In-
structor or similar.
Users are able to operate and maintain the equipment and software in accor-
dance with the instructions for use. No corresponding training is required. All
age groups from adulthood onwards are eligible for all user groups.
Weight calculation is performed by four load cells. The measured results are
shown on the multifunctional display. Height is entered manually.
Body Mass Index (BMI) or Body Surface Area (BSA) are calculated automatically
as soon as a height is entered.
Weight and height can be recorded simultaneously if a compatible measuring
rod is fitted to the scale. Body Mass Index (BMI) or Body Surface Area (BSA) are
calculated automatically.
