screw until audio envelope signal
becomes as flat as possible.
Adjust as described in the Electrical
Adjustment Section (Servo circuit.) in
each service data.
1. AUDIO HEAD HEIGHT
ADJUSTMENT (AUDIO HEIGHT
ADJUSTING SCREW)
Playback the tape recorded in SP
mode. Adjust position of the upper
flange of tape and that of
the
audio head.
+ Playback E-240 tape in |
mode.
Playback the 3 MHz video signal
'on the alignment tape.
Trigger scope with switching pulse.
Adjust tracking control for maxi-
mum
envelope
output by pushing
channel
(tracking)
up/down
but-
tons.
+ Confirm the portion of
lower flange on No.8 guid
. ENTRANCE SIDE ENVELOPE
ADJUSTMENT
Rotate S guide rotler until entrance
y
side envelope becomes as flat as
possible.
. AUDIO HEAD TILT ADJUSTMENT
(TILT ADJUSTING SCREW)
Playback
the tape in SP mode
continuously. Adjust Audio head tilt
screw so that tape transports along
lower flange of No. 8 guide.
2. NO. 9 GUIDE
If tape travels out of uppe
flange as shown above, pinc
or capstan motor or No.g
lever is defective.
Replace the defective part(s
3._EXIT SIDE ENVELOPE

Rotate T guide rotler until exit side
envelope
becomes
as
flat
as
possible.
2. AUDIO HEAD TILT FINE
ADJUSTMENT
Playback alignment tape in CUE or
double speed mode.
Adjust Audio head tilt untill tape
runs along lower flange of No. 8
guide.

alignment tape.
Turn the azimuth adjusting screw
to obtain maximum output.
Playback

envelope
signal
3 MHz (A ch) on alignment tape in
SP mode. Set tracking control at its
center. Adjust ACE
main base to
obtain max. output.
