only approximations. This means that installation areas can, for instance, be
volumetrically measured, and critical temperatures detected by measurements
and compensated by stagnation flushes.
As a general rule, we recommend verifying the success of the selected settings
for stagnation flushes from the outset, by using temperature measurements
and microbiological tests.
In accordance with DIN 1988-200, cold water must be less or equal to 25 °C
after being run for 30 seconds and warm water at least 55 °C after 30 seconds.
After measurements of this kind, further measures to save water can also
often be implemented and confirmed in terms of temperature and microbi-
ological requirements (see above).
In almost all cases, a stagnation flush carried out for hygiene reasons needs
less drinking water than normal usage of the drinking water installation, be-
cause, where usage is interrupted, flushing is only carried out once every 72
hours (max. once every 7 days) and not several times a day. Accordingly,
the SCHELL SWS Water Management System is especially capable of achiev-
ing a balance between saving water and maintaining water quality.
1.2 System requirements
The SWS software required to run the SCHELL SWS Water Management Sys-
tem is a browser-based application. You do not need to download and install
any software, because the program is installed on the Water Management
Server.
Connectivity to the Water Management Server is achieved via a Wi-Fi net-
work or a LAN cable plugged into the server.
Access to the data stored in the Water Management System requires the use
of a web browser running on a PC, laptop or mobile device. Use of an up-to-
date web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari or Mozilla
Firefox) is recommended.

1.3 Preparing fittings

Make sure that the fittings to be networked have water and electrical con-
nections.
