Notes on maintenance and service

In Germany, maintenance and inspection work on security systems are regulated by the provi-
sions of standard DIN VDE 0833, which require the maintenance interval to be referenced
from the manufacturer's instructions.

Maintenance and inspection work should be carried out regularly and by trained personnel.
Bosch Sicherheitssysteme GmbH recommends arranging for a functionality check and visual
inspection to be carried out at least once a year.
Guarantee
Modules/devices will be replaced free of charge in case of a claim against guarantee.
Repair
Faulty PC boards will be replaced as complete units and must be returned to the manufac-
turer.
Disposal
Unusable electrical and electronic devices/modules must not be disposed
of with normal household refuse. They must be disposed of in compliance
with the applicable directives and regulations (e.g. WEEE in Europe).

The automatic leakage control and permanent self-monitoring performed by the ADW 511A
make periodic functionality checks unnecessary.
The detector box can be cleaned with a mild detergent or a soapy solution.
A new initial startup must be performed whenever parts of the sensor tube or detector box
have been replaced.
