Linear heat detector ADW 511A Transafe
9.1

Types of alarm

Differential/maximum pre-alarm
The ADW 511A is equipped with pre-alarm evaluation. This is not activated when the device
leaves the factory. The pre-alarm function can be programmed via a PC if required. A value in
the range from 10 to 90% of the maximum alarm and/or differential alarm can be determined
in increments of 10 (i.e. 10%, 20%, 30% etc.) as a pre-alarm value. Both a differential pre-
alarm and a maximum pre-alarm will activate the "Reserve" relay (terminal 16-18). In addition,
the open collector output OC Re on terminal 9 will also be activated.
Differential/maximum/temperature gage alarm
The ADW 511A will trigger a differential and/or maximum alarm when the defined values for
these alarm types are reached. The contact for the "Alarm" relay will switch from terminal 12/
11 to terminal 12/10. The open collector output OC AL will be activated on terminal 7. This
status will remain until a reset is performed.

Fault types

The "Fault" relay is activated in standby mode; i.e. the contact is closed between terminal 15/
13 and open between 15/14.
Leakage fault
The ADW 511A will trigger a "Leak fault" if the required target value (page 39) is not reached
during self-monitoring. The contact for the "Fault" relay will switch from terminal 15/13 to ter-
minal 15/14. The open collector output OC ST will be activated on terminal 8. This status will
remain until a reset is performed.
Pinching fault
The ADW 511A will trigger a "Pinching fault" if the required target value (page 39) is exceeded
during self-monitoring. The contact for the "Fault" relay will switch from terminal 15/13 to ter-
minal 15/14. The open collector output OC ST will be activated on terminal 8. This status will
remain until a reset is performed.
Pneumatic fault
The ADW 511A will trigger a "General fault" if the required target value (page 39) is not
reached during self-monitoring. The contact for the "Fault" relay will switch from terminal 15/
13 to terminal 15/14. The open collector output OC ST will be activated on terminal 8. This
status will remain until a reset is performed.
Wrong initial setup fault
A "Wrong initial setup" fault will be displayed if the program selection switch is in a position
prohibited for normal operation. The contact for the "Fault" relay will switch from terminal 15/
13 to terminal 15/14. The open collector output OC ST will be activated on terminal 8. This
status will remain until a reset is performed.
Watchdog reset fault
The ADW 511A will trigger a "General fault" if the Watchdog reset counter reaches the maxi-
mum number of permissible resets. The contact for the "Fault" relay will switch from terminal
15/13 to terminal 15/14. The open collector output OC ST will be activated on terminal 8. This
status will remain until a reset is performed.
