8.4.1

Tests via program selection switch

Various tests can be performed via positions A to F on the program selection switch. Some
test functions trigger external alarms or faults.
This is why all fire control systems and remote alarms must be blocked or deactivated on the
fire panel. Each test that is performed will reset the test function triggered previously.

8.4.2

System test via trigger coil

A trigger coil can be installed in the ADW 511A; the coil can be heated by an industrial heat
gun to test the system.
Please observe the following points if a trigger coil is to be installed:
It is possible that the volume of the trigger coil
is too low to trigger an alarm, depending on
system settings and the overall length of the
sensor tube.
In such cases it will be necessary to set the
program selection switch to a position with
greater sensitivity (position 2 or 3) during the
trigger test.
Note:
The program selection switch must be
restored to its original setting once the trigger
test has been completed.

–The trigger coil itself has a volume that takes up approx. 7 meters of the sensor tube.
These 7 meters must be taken into account when planning the overall length of the
sensor tube.
–The trigger coil must not be exposed to direct sunlight. Local temperature fluctuations
can trigger false alarms.

The ALARM DIFF and ALARM MAX LEDs light up.
The "Alarm" relay is activated.
The "Fault" LED lights up. The "Fault" relay is activated.
The "Reserve" relay is activated.
The motor turns. All LEDs flash.
