Reset

Every event or status triggered on the ADW 511A will remain until a reset is performed.
8.3.1

Hardware reset

There are four different options for performing a hard reset:

All fire controls and remote alarms on the fire panel must be blocked or deactivated during
i
maintenance and repair work on the ADW 511A or when the device is being tested. Otherwise,
the alarm relay is activated on jumper reset and displays an alarm. Furthermore, if the pro-
gram selection switch is set to a test function when the jumper is reset, the system will subse-
quently perform the test. A hardware reset will not erase data stored in the event memory.
8.3.2

Hard reset

A hard reset is usually only performed during initial setup. Setting the program selection
switch to position 0 will start the hard reset. The basic data is determined during this process
and stored in the ADW 511A. This data is then retained until another hard reset is performed.
The event memory is cleared.
8.3.3

Watchdog reset

Watchdog resets are performed after a fault in the program sequence. The ADW 511A is then
re-initialized and the watchdog reset counted. Frequent occurrences or the fulfillment of a
specified number of watchdog resets will generate a "General fault" message. Data in the
event memory will remain intact.

Perform "Alarm" test:
– Set program selection switch
to position A.
Perform the "Fault" test:
– Set program selection switch
to position B.
Set basic settings:
– Turn program selection
switch to the required posi-
tion (1 to 9).

Alarm is triggered after 3 seconds:
– ALARM DIFF and ALARM MAX LEDs light up.
– "Alarm" relay is activated.
– This concludes the operation.
– Proceed immediately with step 5.
Fault is triggered after 3 seconds:
– Alarm status from step 4 is reset.
– The POWER/FAULT LED lights yellow.
– "Fault" relay is activated.
– This concludes the operation.
– Proceed immediately with step 6.
Reset occurs after 3 seconds and activates the
selected basic settings:
– The POWER/FAULT LED switches to green.
– "Fault" relay switches to standby mode.
– This concludes initial startup.
– Document the position of the program
selection switch.
